Endodontics
Endodontic Treatment, or the root canal, has always been associated with pain. In reality, the root canal is done many times with no pain at all.

There are tiny canals within your tooth that may become infected, as it shows in Figure 1 of the diagram above. The tooth also could need a root canal if the decay touches the nerve causing the tooth to be painful.
The doctor will then perform the root canal procedure, shown in Figure 2 of the diagram. The canals are cleaned and the infection is removed. The canals are then filled and the tooth receives a filling or a crown, shown in Figure 3 of the diagram. Crowns are most common after the root canal is performed to add strength to the tooth.
This procedure used to take two office visits to perform. With the advanced methods that have been adopted by our practice, the root canal is over quickly and in many cases, under an hour. The whole procedure is very patient friendly and causes little to no pain.
